Job summary

Eversource in Brockton, MA is seeking a Gas Service Dispatcher to coordinate gas service orders, handle emergencies, and manage meter-related requests. The role operates in a 24/7 environment and requires reliable, quick decision-making to ensure safe, timely service for customers.

Under supervision, you will process calls for gas repair, meter turn ons/offs, and investigations, while maintaining accurate records and collaborating with field teams to restore service swiftly and safely.

Qualifications

• Two plus years of Emergency Dispatching Experience – EMS/Police/Fire/Gas or Utility Dispatch experience required.
• Availability to work 24/7 shift work. Shifts are required.
• Qualified applicants must pass a pre-employment drug test per DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Process gas service orders including emergencies, odors, repair service, meter turn ons/offs, investigations, and exchanges.
• Answer the emergency lines and support 24/7 operations.
• Coordinate with field teams to restore service safely and promptly.

These include, but are not limited to: gas emergencies, gas odors, requests for gas repair service, meter turn ons, meter shut offs, meter investigations, and meter exchanges. The department maintains a 24/7 operation and is responsible for answering the “emergency police and fire lines”.QUALIFICATIONS1. This position will require the satisfactory completion of company training programs and oral exams must be successfully passed.2. Qualified applicants must pass a pre-employment/pre-placement drug test in accordance with D.O.T. regulations. Random tests will be given.3. Availability to work 24/7 shift work.
