Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking a Gas Scheduler to manage daily natural gas operations, including nominations, confirmations, and imbalance mitigation, ensuring accurate delivery behind each LDC. You will collaborate with trading, wholesale, LDCs and internal stakeholders to optimize transportation and storage assets while complying with tariffs.

Responsibilities include forecasting, nominations, balancing positions, and on‑call rotations.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED with aptitude for math and Excel ability.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excel skills at a moderate or advanced level.
• Ability to multi‑task and learn new technology.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer usage data and develop forecasts.
• Communicate with trading and wholesale teams to determine supply solutions.
• Nominate gas to LDC websites and confirm nominations.
• Make daily adjustments to keep positions balanced.
• Trade imbalances with counterparties to keep pools balanced.
• Gain understanding of LDC tariffs and how they affect daily activity.
• Build relationships with sales, trading, wholesale and LDC representatives.
• Communicate professionally with customers when needed.
• Work on rotating on‑call schedule.
