Job summary

Kinder Morgan, Inc. is seeking a hands-on technician to monitor and control RNG gas processing facility operations, including pumps, compressors, and safety systems. You will start, stop and operate engines, perform maintenance planning, and ensure efficient plant performance.

The role requires rotating shifts, occasional travel, and strict adherence to regulatory and safety standards. A high school diploma is required, with preferred technical training.

Qualifications

• Must be prepared to execute emergency response activities at all times.
• Knowledge of compressor, pump, and general processing plant operations.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Rotating shift work and overtime.
• Some travel may be required.
• Regular and predictable attendance required.
• Knowledge of gas and liquid processing theories and fundamentals.
• Experience or familiarity analyzing, adjusting and making minor repairs on compressors, pumps and other associated equipment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control terminal components such as pumps, compressors, blowers, natural gas compression equipment; electrical systems; utilities systems (air, nitrogen, water sump pumps); fire protection, and hazard detection systems; and security systems. Start, stop and operate engines/pumps and other equipment to maintain designated operating parameters.
• Assist in the planning and performance of maintenance and repairs on compressors, engines, turbines, auxiliary equipment, pumps, process controls, and related equipment.
• Ensure the cost effective and efficient performance of all gas and liquid processing units and associated equipment.
• Monitor quality of product to ensure meeting specifications and takes appropriate actions when out of specification product is identified.
• Notify personnel as appropriate of the status of system operations
• Perform governmental compliance activities (DOT, State Agencies, EPA, USFS, etc.), including hazardous waste storage, labeling, inspecting and shipping.
