Job summary

Airgas in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Plant Operator to fill high‑pressure cylinders (Industrial, Medical, and Mixes) using compression temperature/pressure methods. You will operate pumping equipment and gauges, perform pre‑ and post‑fill inspections, and ensure regulatory safety standards are met.

The role requires heavy lifting, forklift operation, and strong reading comprehension to follow procedures.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be able to perform very heavy work, lifting 25–75 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
• Ability to read and comprehend written and computer-generated documentation.
• Must be able to operate forklift or become forklift certified.

Responsibilities

• Fill high‑pressure cylinders (Industrial, Medical, Mixes) using the compression temperature/pressure method.
• Operate and maintain pumping equipment and pressure gauges.
• Inspect pre-fill and post-fill processes and ensure safety tests are passed.
• Load and unload trucks as part of logistics flow and assist with inventory and housekeeping.
