Job summary

Airgas in Evansville, IN is seeking a Plant Operator to support the safe operation of our production facility. You will participate in cylinder filling, equipment maintenance, and quality checks to uphold our safety and reliability standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, forklift familiarity, and a strong commitment to safety. Training is provided, with standard Monday–Friday hours and benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or equivalent experience.
• Experience in plant operations, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred.
• Technical certification in industrial operations is a plus.
• Industrial Gas Experience a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Commitment to safety and following established protocols.
• Comfort with operating a forklift safely and efficiently.
• Shift flexibility to support teammates.

Responsibilities

• Fill cylinders to quality standards and maintain production flow.
• Inspect and service equipment (compressors, pumps, filling stations, forklifts).
• Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, cylinder tracking and production activities.
• Support safe handling and transport of cylinders and materials.
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment.
• Assist with material handling and forklift operations as needed.
