Job summary

Magnolia River is seeking an engineer to join our team in Louisiana, combining design, fieldwork, and data interpretation to support safe gas distribution and transmission projects. The role includes producing basic P&ID drawings, reviewing data from locates, and coordinating with project stakeholders.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s in engineering (civil or mechanical) with about 2 years in an engineering setting, preferably with natural gas or utilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical) and 2 years of experience in an engineering environment.
• Natural gas pipeline experience and/or other utilities is preferred.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is preferred.
• Previous internship with Magnolia River is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be willing and able to accept responsibilities of this position, our culture, and a commitment to excellence.
• Read and interpret data from design locates, field work, and other data collection.
• Ability to produce basic P&ID and compare basic layouts.
• Understand permit process for permit tracking and approvals, HDD basics, and as-built process.
• Ensure project scope, schedule, and cost requirements of client and stakeholders are met.
• Prepare written plans, reports, or procedures to address specific project needs.
• Understand solutions to issues that arise during project execution.
• Develop and maintain professional rapport with Project Manager, Asst. Project Manager, and team members, providing timely responses and communicating effectively.
• Proactively work toward team, division, and company goals; lead large-scale initiatives when needed.
• Study federal, state, and client requirements to understand gas system designs.
• Maintain target billable goals.
• Other duties as assigned.
