Gas Pipeline Design Engineer: Field, CAD & Modeling

Job summary

Magnolia River seeks an engineer to contribute to modeling, design, drafting, and field work for gas distribution and transmission projects. You will participate across the project lifecycle, developing safe, efficient solutions and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Mechanical engineering degree and 2 years of experience in engineering, with preference for natural gas pipeline exposure. EIT and Magnolia River internship are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical) with 2 years engineering experience.
• Natural gas pipeline experience and/or other utility experience preferred.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred.
• Previous internship with Magnolia River preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret data from design locates, field work, and other data collection.
• Produce basic P&ID and compare basic layouts.
• Understand permit process for permit tracking and approvals; HDD basics and as-built process.
• Ensure project scope, schedule, and cost requirements are met for stakeholders.
• Prepare written plans, reports, or procedures to address project needs.
• Develop and maintain professional rapport with project team and communicate effectively.
• Support team goals; lead when needed on large initiatives.
• Study federal, state, and client requirements to understand gas system designs.
• Maintain target billable goals.
• Other duties as assigned.
