Job summary

Peoples Gas is seeking a Supervisor – Gas Operations M&R to lead the Gas Operations team in Florida, overseeing measurement and regulation systems, scheduling, compliance, and performance improvements. The role requires extensive field and technical supervision with emphasis on safety and reliability.

Key responsibilities include budget oversight, calibration of gas measurement equipment, and coordination with technicians to ensure optimal operation and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 10 years in Gas Transmission/Distribution operations.
• Experience leading operations staff and coordinating with regulators.

Responsibilities

• Oversee systems, projects and programs for Gas Operations & Regulation Services.
• Maintain and support technology infrastructure including control systems and SCADA tools.
• Supervise Gas Operations Technicians, manage alarms and dispatch.
• Plan budgets and monitor costs for the Gas Operations sub-area.
• Manage nominations and scheduling in the Gas Management System.
• Provide operational, technical and analytical support to the Gas Operations team.

Job Title

Supervisor – Gas Operations M&R

Location & Shift

State and City: Florida – St. Petersburg or Tampa
Shift: 8 Hr. X 5 Days

Responsibilities

• Provides oversight, support, analysis, and implementation of systems, projects and programs related to technology, operational efficiencies, revenue generation, and operations support for Measurement & Regulation Services, which monitors the Company’s pipeline and distribution system in Florida.
• Maintains and supports the department’s technology infrastructure including control systems, data telecommunications, networks, hardware, systems software and various web‑based applications.
• Oversees Gas Operations, I/C and Compressor Technicians in maintenance, repairs and calibration of the Company’s gas measurement equipment.
• Develops, implements, and maintains operational equipment and SCADA system functionality and associated analytical tools.
• Plans, establishes, and implements budget/cost monitoring for Gas Operations “sub‑area”.
• Manages alarms, dispatches I/C Technicians and determines the most appropriate course of action to resolve issues.
• Provides operational, technical and analytical support to the Gas Operations team managing various systems including the PGS Essentials system.
• Monitors pipeline inputs and tracks daily and monthly volumes for the various suppliers and industrial customers.
• Owns and manages the daily scheduling and confirmation process of all nominations entered by customers into the Company’s Gas Management System.
• Assists the Manager and Technicians with operations, monitoring and troubleshooting of telemetry equipment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Gas Transmission/Distribution system engineering, design, operations, and maintenance.
• Experience providing functional guidance and leadership to operations staff.
• Strong working knowledge of State and Federal regulations and D.O.T. requirements relative to natural gas operations.
• Understanding of maintenance, repairs and calibration tasks on gas measurement equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems, multi‑task, build effective relationships and organize records.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Business, Engineering, Mathematics or related discipline.
• Supervisory experience.
• Ability to delegate, coach, and develop others.
• Knowledge of Company policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of geographic territories.

Incident Response Assignment
