The Gas Meter Technician reports to the Project Manager. Responsibilities include gas meter maintenance, exchange, measurement, and safety inspections. The role involves significant walking outdoors, time management, and flexibility. Salary in NY: $25/hour.
Must Haves: No formal education required, must be 18+, 2 years gas meter experience or equivalent technical skills, valid driver’s license, ability to work independently and in outdoor conditions, good communication, and computer skills. Must pass Pipeline Operator Qualification (OQ) training upon hire.
Nice to Have: High school diploma, 5+ years meter experience, or 1+ year with the same employer.
Drug/alcohol testing is mandatory. Benefits include health plans, retirement plans, PTO, company vehicle, gas card, mobile allowance, boot allowance, and per diem for travel.
