Eversource is seeking a Meter Service Mechanic to install, repair and service residential and commercial gas metering equipment in the Waterbury, CT area. The role involves reconnecting meters, servicing gas appliances and responding to gas-related issues under general supervision.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, pass the CAST aptitude test, and hold an appropriate gas or related license.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience as a Meter Service Mechanic or equivalent.
• Ability to perform inspections in non-handicapped areas, operate a vehicle and lift/move >50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Reconnect and disconnect gas services.
• Service customer owned gas appliances.
• Investigate gas odor complaints and provide repair.
• Install, remove, and change gas meters.
• Investigate high bill complaints.
• Remove, replace, and install ERT devices.
• Remove, repair, replace, and install piping.
• Communicate effectively with customers and handle complaints.
• On-call emergency responses.
