Job summary

Eversource is seeking a Gas Meter Service Technician to install, repair, and service residential and commercial gas metering equipment. The role requires handling gas services, meters, and piping, plus responding to high bill and odor-related issues. A valid driver's license and ability to work rotating days and evenings are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Willing to complete EEI CAST aptitude testing for external candidates.
• Must hold one of the listed gas-related licenses (S1/S2/S3/S4/S5/S6/S7/S8/P1/P2; or G1/G2).
• Ability to lift and move >50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in heights.
• Familiar with MS Windows applications and data input.

Responsibilities

• Reconnect and disconnect gas services.
• Service customer owned gas appliances.
• Investigate gas odor complaints and provide repair.
• Install, remove, and change various gas meters.
• Investigate high bill complaints.
• Remove, replace, and install ERT devices.
• Handle piping installations and repairs.
• Communicate effectively with customers and be on-call for emergencies.
