Starting pay is $46.04 per hour, and the position is shift-based and union represented. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, prior meter service experience, and possession of an appropriate license (S1–S8, D1, D2, P1, P2) with the ability to work

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience as a Meter Service Mechanic or equivalent is REQUIRED.
• Candidate must hold one of the listed licenses (S1–S8, P1, P2, D1, D2; others acceptable) to meet minimum requirements.
• Ability to lift and move materials over 50 lbs and perform inspections in non-handicapped areas.

Responsibilities

• Reconnect and disconnect gas services.
• Service customer-owned gas appliances.
• Investigate gas odor complaints and perform repairs.
• Install, remove, and change various sizes of gas meters.
• Investigate high bill complaints.
• Remove, replace, and install ERT devices.
• Remove, repair, replace, and install piping.
• Communicate effectively with customers at all levels.
• Be available for on-call emergency responses.
