Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC in Maryland is seeking a Gas Meter Relight Technician (Fully Qualified) to perform meter change-outs, install gas module upgrades, and shut down and relight gas appliances.

You will identify hazardous conditions, supervise safe operation of vehicles and tools, and provide professional service to customers and internal teams.

A High School Diploma or GED is preferred; 1+ year gas meter exchange experience; BGE OQ 18 required; gas fitter license is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be computer and smartphone literate.
• Ability to read maps and navigate in congested areas.
• Independently manage time and workload to meet deadlines.
• Mechanically inclined with experience using a variety of tools.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with little or no supervision.
• Minimum 40-hour workweek with Saturdays as inclement weather make-up days.

Responsibilities

• Perform change-outs of existing gas utility meters and install gas module upgrades, as required, and shut down and relight gas appliances.
• Identify hazardous conditions as it relates to gas appliances.
• Be proficient in gas appliance safeties and operations.
• Operate a company vehicle, equipment, and tools safely.
• Deliver professional customer service to internal and external customers.
