These crews are responsible for working in residential and commercial areas on underground utilities, collaborating with their team to complete daily tasks.

Essential Functions:

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assist the crew leader in construction, reconstruction, and maintenance work.
• Support equipment operators, including swamping, hand digging, and locating underground obstructions.
• Operate specialized equipment such as jackhammers, rotary drills, and power actuated fasteners.
• Signal equipment operators to assist with machinery and material handling.
• Work safely around heavy machinery like backhoes, excavators, trenchers, and dump trucks.
• Maintain a clean and hazard-free construction site.

Success Factors:

• Perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often in adverse weather conditions.
• Lifting ability of up to 80 lbs multiple times per shift.
• Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, and on uneven surfaces.
• Follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Work independently and collaboratively with team members.
• Pass motor vehicle, criminal background checks, and a drug screening.
• Proficiency in English for record-keeping and reporting.
• Willingness to learn new skills.

Experience and Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with underground utilities is a plus.
• CDL A license is advantageous.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

• Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one within two weeks of employment.
• Pass criminal, MVR background checks, and a pre-employment drug test.
