Job summary

Atmos Energy in Texas seeks a candidate to perform basic work using clearly prescribed procedures and respond to customer requests for service, including connections and disconnections as operator qualified.

The role involves installing, programming, and operating Wireless Meter Reading (WMR) equipment; maintaining records; potential stand-by duties; safety training; and working outdoors in all weather. Driving license required; safety-sensitive position with pre/post screenings.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Valid driver's license required.
Must complete required safety training and OQ certifications.

Responsibilities

Performs basic work using clearly prescribed procedures.
Responds to customer requests for service including connections and disconnections as operator qualified.
Informs customer of needed repairs and explains work performed; ensures customer satisfaction.
May disconnect service and perform collection efforts on delinquent accounts.
Installs, programs, and operates Wireless Meter Reading (WMR) equipment.
Assists with activities to assure responsiveness to natural gas and other emergencies.
Completes and maintains accurate records to comply with company and regulatory requirements.
May read meters and record usage for billing.
May hold stand-by duty, work shifts, holidays, weekends, and emergency call outs.
