Job summary

InterCon Construction is seeking a hands-on professional to prepare work sites for utility installation, align and assemble gas piping, and maintain strict safety standards. The role involves signaling equipment operators, loading and transporting materials, and ensuring proper pipe placement and burial.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and a willingness to travel. CDL Class A is preferred; experience with gas mains and fiber optics is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• CDL Class A preferred.
• Willing to travel as needed.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stand and walk for long periods.
• Lift, push and pull 50 pounds regularly.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience installing gas mains and fiber optic cables preferred.
• Education in Gas and Utilities Construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work site to locate utilities and eliminate hazards.
• Signal operators to help facilitate movement or alignment of equipment.
• Load, unload and transport construction materials and tools.
• Configure pipe routes.
• Assemble gas piping and equipment.
• Follow safety standards throughout process, including digging trenches and sealing joints.
• Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods or transit levels.
• Cover pipes or cable with dirt or other material.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
