Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory's Gas Facility is seeking a Transportation Specialist to coordinate daily gas delivery and pickup operations, reporting to LOG-PT under the Gas Facility Operations Manager. The role involves on-site and off-site shipments and requires compliance with hazardous materials regulations and internal policies.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of nuclear and/or hazardous material or compressed gases transportation activities.
• Basic knowledge of hazardous material or compressed gases regulations.
• Basic knowledge of the Laboratory's organizational structure.
• Introductory knowledge of the material control and accountability program.
• Knowledge of the Laboratory's safety and security procedures.
• Handling and processing classified information.
• Knowledge of handling nuclear and/or hazardous material

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily operational activities for gas delivery and pickup on-site and off-site as needed.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSR, CGA regulations for hazardous materials.
• Maintain quality and process adherence for gas facility operations.
• Support inventory control and project assessments.
• Communicate with customers and subcontractors regarding shipments and status.
