Job summary

PGL and NSG, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Gas Engineering Intern for May 2027 in Waukegan and Chicago, IL. The role runs full-time through the summer with an hourly pay of $23.10 to start.

Interns will support Gas Engineering staff on design, construction, and maintenance projects, developing engineering and project management skills while expanding technical knowledge and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, HSED, or GED.
• Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering with graduation after June 2027.
• Minimum GPA of 2.8.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Assist with analyses and preparation of plans, designs, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and work procedures for gas transmission and distribution projects.
• Analyze gas load requests and recommend metering and pressure regulating equipment.
• Use computer programs to update models and perform network studies of gas system flow and capacity.
• Determine optimum design, costs, and economic justification for projects expanding gas service or reinforcing facilities.
• Gain exposure to facilities, construction projects, system maintenance, and analysis stages; understand project management applications.
