Job summary

PGL, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, seeks a Co-Op Engineer - Gas Storage Engineering for Fisher, Illinois. The program begins January 2027 or May 2027 and runs full-time through the summer, with potential continuation for the Spring or Fall semester. Pay is hourly at $23.10 with paid company holidays.

You will support underground gas storage projects and related equipment under supervision of experienced engineers, gaining hands-on design and analysis experience.

Qualifications

• Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, and Petroleum Engineering or closely related degree with a graduation date of July 2027 or later.
• Minimum GPA of 2.8
• Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Underground gas storage - methane stored at 1750 psi 4000 ft. below surface
• Field piping, valves, and gas storage wells
• Station piping, valves, regulators, meters, heat exchangers, and processes
• Withdrawal process with slug catchers, tri-ethylene glycol dehydrators, reboilers and thermal oxidizers
• Injection process with three 5000 hp natural gas powered compressors
• CO2 Removal process
• LNG Liquefaction process - convert methane from gas to liquid at -260 degrees F
• LNG Vaporization process - convert liquid LNG back to a gas
