Job summary

PGL and NSG, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Gas Engineering Intern for May 2027 in the Waukegan, Illinois and Chicago, Illinois locations. The position will start in May 2027 and be full-time through the summer, with a starting hourly rate of $23.10 and paid company holidays.

Interns will provide engineering support to Gas Engineering staff on gas design, construction, operating, and maintenance projects while developing engineering and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering with a graduation date after June 2027.
• GPA minimum of 2.8 and a valid driver's license are required.
• High School Diploma, HSED, or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with analyses and preparation of plans, designs, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for gas transmission and distribution projects.
• Analyze gas load requests and recommend metering and pressure regulating equipment.
• Use computer programs and databases to update models and perform network studies of gas system flow and capacity.
• Support staff on a range of projects in various stages of analysis, design, and execution.
