Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking an Engineering Intern to support our Gas Utility, in an entry-level capacity within one of our Engineering departments. The internship provides practical work experience, collaboration with key internal stakeholders and exposure to senior leadership presentations.

The role includes project activities such as pipeline engineering, data cleanup, and outage coordination, with a May 24, 2027 start date. A hybrid work arrangement and in-person commuting are expected.

Qualifications

• Current student, junior or higher.
• Enrolled in ABET-accredited college/university pursuing an Engineering degree (Gas Project Management acceptable).
• Able to work full-time during summer (up to 40 hours/week) and part-time during school year (up to 20 hours/week).
• Hybrid work policy requiring commuting to the designated work location.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project management and pipeline engineering tasks.
• Support data cleanup, federal code verification and documentation prep.
• Work with Engineering staff to support Transmission Control Center operations.
• Perform entry-level engineering analyst tasks supporting tools, programs and databases.
