Job summary

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. is seeking a Gas & Electric Dispatcher to coordinate communications and operate dispatch equipment, including two-way radios and SAP work orders.

You will prioritize and schedule emergencies and non-emergency calls, dispatch field crews, and collaborate across internal teams. Preferred candidates have a High School Diploma with 2+ years in dispatch or call center roles, strong communication, and familiarity with GIS/SAP environments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required with 2+ years dispatch/call center experience.
• Knowledge of GIS, SAP, work scheduling or dispatching systems preferred.
• Ability to work under stress, solve problems, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Dispatcher on shift, monitoring system conditions and responding to gas and water disturbances.
• Dispatch field crews and coordinate with Control Room, Construction, and Operations.
• Complete dispatch logs and reports; perform after-hours callouts.
• Create internal notifications for major incidents and act as customer service rep off-hours.
