Job summary

The City of Sunrise is looking for a Gas Distribution Technician to install, maintain, and repair the City’s natural gas distribution system. The role involves responding to emergencies, locating lines, and ensuring safe operation of gas facilities in diverse field environments.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license; prior gas utility experience and knowledge of safety procedures are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair natural gas pipelines and equipment.
• Locate lines and meters; respond to emergencies and emergencies.
• Inspect and maintain cathodic protection on gas lines; install meter sets and regulate gas service.
• Supervise work crews and guide technicians on gas distribution tasks.
