Job summary

Eversource is seeking a field service helper in Connecticut to install and repair gas piping, investigate odor complaints, and operate heavy equipment. You may be assigned to trouble calls and shifts, and a valid CDL with a DOT medical card is preferred.

This is a union-represented role requiring compliance with safety protocols and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions. Starting pay is $32.26 per hour, with mandatory EEI testing for external candidates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• External candidates must complete EEI CAST test.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record required.
• DOT medical card and ability to wear respirator required.
• Two years of related experience preferred for helper level.

Responsibilities

• Remove, repair, replace and install gas piping of various sizes.
• Investigate and repair gas odor complaints.
• Operate pavement breaking/road cutting equipment and backhoe/dump truck.
• Perform walking leak surveys and underground utility mark outs.
• Drilling and tapping gas mains; respond to trouble calls within ~30 minutes.
