Job summary

Eversource Energy in Massachusetts is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design gas distribution systems, regulator stations, and related infrastructure, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and safety standards.

This position requires at least three years of related experience, a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office, and a valid driver's license. Travel between MA, CT and NH may be required, and the role includes emergency restoration duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or closely related field.
• Three or more years related experience; engineering design experience preferred.
• Gas distribution engineering experience preferred.
• Valid motor vehicle operator license required.

Responsibilities

• Under direction, designs systems or installations to fit objectives, conforming to industry standards, guidelines and regulations of federal, state and local authorities.
• Performs site layouts and prepare necessary documents for procurement, permitting and construction.
• Coordinates construction activities with customers, contractors, States, Municipalities and internal departments.
• Assists in gas distribution system restoration efforts during emergencies.
