Qualifications

• Must understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Must have elementary knowledge of gasoline and diesel motors and automotive equipment.
• Must have some experience in operation and repair of construction & automotive equipment.
• Must have a good degree of mechanical ability and knowledge of earth-moving equipment.
• Must have the aptitude and skill to operate all Distribution Division equipment and tools safely.
• Must have knowledge of the layout of streets within the Company's territory.

Responsibilities

• Learn operating routine of all earth-moving equipment and achieve entry-level proficiency within three months.
• Perform minor repairs and general maintenance of equipment (greasing, oiling, refueling).
• Assist with other classifications' duties when not operating equipment.
• Learn duties of higher classifications for promotion opportunities.
• Work in the field, sometimes without direct supervision.
• May involve handling hazardous waste and on-call emergency coverage.
