Job summary

USA Compression is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of natural gas compression equipment in field environments. You will work on engines, compressors, and related components, with responsibilities including start-ups, shutdowns, and commissioning, while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong customer-facing communication, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently in remote settings.

Qualifications

• Requires strong communication with field personnel, vendors, and colleagues.
• Must have mechanical aptitude with engines or heavy machinery.
• Ability to read tech manuals, schematics, and service bulletins.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors, independently, in remote environments.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and use hand tools.
• Must provide own small hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on natural gas compression equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues to minimize downtime.
• Conduct engine overhauls, compressor rebuilds, and component replacements as needed.
• Complete start-ups, shutdowns, and commissioning activities safely and efficiently.
• Monitor equipment performance; identify and escalate abnormal trends.
• Respond to call-outs and emergencies to restore functionality.
• Ensure all work complies with company standards, OEM specs, and regulations.
• Submit accurate maintenance, expense reports, and timesheets daily.
