Job summary

USA Compression Partners, LP is seeking a Field Service Technician to safely operate, maintain, and repair natural gas compression equipment across an assigned territory. The role supports field operations by ensuring uptime and delivering high-quality service to customers in remote environments.

You will work independently on-site, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, start-ups and commissioning, and collaborate with operations and engineering teams while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• Customer-facing role requiring strong communication and professional demeanor.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Mechanical aptitude with engines or heavy machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently in outdoor, remote environments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Must provide own small hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on natural gas compression equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues to minimize downtime.
• Conduct engine overhauls, compressor rebuilds, and component replacements.
• Complete start-ups, shutdowns, and commissioning safely and efficiently.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify abnormal trends.
• Respond to call-outs and emergencies to restore functionality.
• Ensure all work complies with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Submit maintenance reports, expense reports, and timesheets daily.
• Follow safety policies and participate in required training.
• Coordinate with operations, logistics, and engineering teams to support equipment needs.
