Job summary

USA Compression Partners, LP is seeking a Field Service Technician to ensure safe, reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of natural gas compression equipment within an assigned territory. You will work independently in remote field environments, performing preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize uptime for midstream partners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Mechanical aptitude with experience in engines, rotating equipment, or heavy machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work independently in outdoor, remote, and sometimes harsh environments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Must provide own small hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Maintenance & Repair.
• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on natural gas compression equipment, including engines, compressors, coolers, and associated components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues to minimize downtime.
• Conduct engine overhauls, compressor rebuilds, and component replacements as needed.
• Complete start-ups, shutdowns, and commissioning activities safely and efficiently.
• Monitor equipment performance and operating conditions; identify and elevate abnormal trends.
• Respond to call-outs and emergency situations to restore equipment functionality.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with USA Compression standards, OEM specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Responsible for submitting accurate maintenance reports, expense reports, timesheets and other necessary paperwork daily.
