Job summary

Energy Transfer is seeking an Applications Engineer to support the Sales Team in sizing, selecting, and quoting compression equipment. The role acts as a liaison between Sales, Manufacturing, and other teams while maintaining customer relationships.

Responsibilities include technical support, cost estimation, equipment design, and on-site visits. Candidates should have an engineering degree and 3–6 years of oil and gas compression experience, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• 3-6 years of relevant work experience in oil and gas, preferably direct experience in natural gas compression.
• Ability to understand industry codes and standards (ASME, API, ISO, EPA, etc.)
• Strong computer skills; experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, SAP, and OEM sizing programs preferred.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with internal and external personnel.
• Must be able to travel approximately 1-10% of the time.
• Full-time Exempt position.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support, determine project specifications, prepare cost estimates, and assist in design and development of equipment based on customer requirements.
• Size gas compression equipment efficiently using OEM performance software and make unit performance recommendations.
• Develop accurate cost estimates and forecasts using internal resources and supplier relationships.
• Maintain detailed records of cost analyses and communications; prepare status reports.
• Advise Sales and Manufacturing management on forecasted sales activity and act as a technical liaison between teams.
• Perform sales, shop, field, yard and site visits to gather details on compression equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
