Job summary

Dearing Compressor is seeking an Applications Engineer to lead technical and commercial proposals for natural gas compressor packages and related equipment. The role requires independent judgment, senior engineering oversight, and the ability to manage complex customer specifications from concept through proposal submission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of direct gas applications experience; 10+ years preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in compressor packaging and strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical evaluation of customer RFPs and specifications for gas compression systems.
• Interpret complex specifications, codes, and industry standards.
• Perform advanced sizing of compressors, engines, vessels, and auxiliary systems.
• Develop complete technical and commercial proposals including scope, compliance, and pricing.
• Build cost models using vendor data and engineering judgment.
• Qualify vendor proposals and mitigate risks.
• Lead technical discussions in pre-sales and kickoff meetings.
• Mentor and train junior engineers and inside sales personnel.
