Hyatt Regency Houston Downtown is seeking a Cook 2 (Garde Manger) to join our culinary team in downtown Houston. You will prepare high-quality items, support garde manger operations, and assist banquet services as needed to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• One to two years of previous cooking or food preparation experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively work a station under supervision and assist across multiple kitchen areas as needed.
• Culinary degree or related hotel culinary experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of basic culinary techniques, food safety, and sanitation practices.
• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry moderate weight, up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business requires.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present menu items in accordance with Hyatt and culinary standards
• Support daily Garde Manger operations, including the preparation of salads, cold foods, garnishes, and other menu items
• Assist banquet culinary operations as needed to support events and business levels
• Follow established recipes, production sheets, and portion control standards
• Maintain quality, consistency, and presentation standards for all food products
• Properly store, label, rotate, and handle food products in accordance with food safety guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned workstations, equipment, and storage areas
• Support multiple kitchen stations as operational needs require
• Work collaboratively with culinary and food and beverage teams to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction
• Uphold sanitation, safety, and cleanliness standards in all areas of kitchen operations
• Promote Hyatt's Culture of Care through teamwork, professionalism, and attention to detail
