Job summary

Hiland Dairy Foods Company is seeking an experienced full-time diesel technician for our Kansas City, MO location on the 1st shift (Wednesday–Saturday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM). The role requires diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers, and equipment, with duties including DOT inspections and vehicle record maintenance.

Qualified candidates will have 3+ years in maintenance and repair, a High School diploma or equivalent, and must supply tools up to 1".

Qualifications

• 3+ years of maintenance and repair experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must supply own tools up to 1".
• Valid State License (Class A CDL preferred but not required).
• Able to lift 60 pounds and work in all weather conditions.
• Must pass drug test, physical, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair tractors, trailers and equipment in the shop; occasional field work.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections and repairs on light and heavy trucks.
• Perform DOT inspections/certifications.
• Maintain vehicle records.
• Service tires, brakes, suspension and electrical systems.
• Repair diesel and gasoline engines.
• Air brakes experience is a plus.
• Electrical, hydraulic and small engine repairs.
• Welding and some fabrication.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.

Full Job Description Hiland Dairy Foods Company is looking to add an experienced full-time tractor/trailer technician for our Kansas City, MO location on our 1st shift wed-sat 7am-530pm

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can work independently with little to no supervision. We are also looking for someone who is punctual, a team player, has a good work ethic and great attitude.

Diesel Technician / Mechanic Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Diagnose and Repair tractors, trailers and equipment in the shop – occasional field work
• Preventative Maintenance, inspections and repairs on light and heavy trucks
• Perform DOT inspections/certifications
• Maintain Vehicle Records
• Tires, Brakes, Suspension and Electrical
• Repair knowledge of diesel and gas engines
• Experience with air brakes is a plus
• Electrical, hydraulic and small engine repairs
• Welding and some fabrication
• Excellent trouble shooting skills

We offer paid training and paid certification training.

Skills and Qualifications of Diesel Technician / Mechanic:
