Job summary

Hiland Dairy Foods Company in Kansas City, MO is seeking an experienced full-time Diesel Technician/Mechanic on our first shift (Wed-Sat, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM). You will diagnose and repair tractors, trailers, and equipment in the shop with some field work, perform preventive maintenance, and handle DOT inspections.

The role requires 3+ years in maintenance, a high school diploma, and the ability to lift 60 pounds; CDL is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 3+ year experience in maintenance and repair.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must supply own tools up to 1”.
• Valid State License (Class A CDL preferred but not required).
• Follow both verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to lift 60 pounds and be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to pass a required drug test, physical and background check.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and Repair tractors, trailers and equipment in the shop - occasional field work
• Preventative Maintenance, inspections and repairs on light and heavy trucks
• Perform DOT inspections/certifications
• Maintain Vehicle Records
• Tires, Brakes, Suspension and Electrical
• Repair knowledge of diesel and gas engines
• Experience with air brakes is a plus
• Electrical, hydraulic and small engine repairs
• Welding and some fabrication
