Regulating gaming and enforcing criminal gambling laws promotes the public’s health, safety, and welfare by safeguarding Louisiana’s residents from corrupt and dishonest practices.

At the LSP Gaming Enforcement Division, our mission is to strictly regulate and control authorized gaming entities in accordance with the Louisiana Gaming Control Board (LGCB). Regulating gaming and enforcing criminal gambling laws promotes the public’s health, safety, and welfare by safeguarding Louisiana’s residents from corrupt and dishonest practices.

We’re looking for a Gaming Technical Compliance (GTC) Specialist to join our Audit and Technical Section—a professional, progressive team working to attract and support the talent that drives our mission forward. The GTC specialist plays a key role in testing and certifying electronic gaming devices, gaming equipment, and gaming systems to ensure the integrity of the Louisiana gaming industry. Our tech staff works closely with our audit staff, the Enforcement Section, and the Licensing Section to ensure the suitability and the integrity of all gaming operations and activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of information technology or electronic technician experience; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any area; OR

An associate's degree.

Experience Substitution

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any area. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any area.

Job Duties:
  • Use independent lab software to certify electronic gaming devices (EGDs), equipment used in gaming, and various gaming systems (slot monitoring, sports wagering, etc.)
  • Conduct testing of EGDs and other devices to ensure they operate and report in accordance with state law, gaming regulations, and internal controls.
  • Tape EGD and system hardware to ensure we can identify any tampering with devices we have certified.
  • Conduct inspections of casinos to ensure compliance with gaming law, gaming regulations, and internal controls.
  • Be involved in reviewing updated independent lab requirements to ensure all testing and certifications meet the current requirements.
  • Receive training from various experts and agencies to enhance your expertise in all things related to EGDs and casinos.
  • Work with other groups and sections to investigate criminal and administrative violations in the gaming industry.
  • Assist in developing procedures for the technical group to ensure the Louisiana casino industry keeps up with fast-moving technological advancements.
  • Assist other areas in the opening of casinos relocated to onshore facilities.
Position-Specific Details:
  • Appointment Type: This position may be filled as a Probational, Job Appointment, or a Promotional Opportunity.
  • Career Progression: This position will be may be filled as a Gaming Technical Compliance Specialist (GTC) 1, 2, or 3. Future opportunities to promote to GTC Specialist 4 and GTC Supervisor.
  • Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
  • Compensation: The compensation depends on qualifications and experience. The minimum bi-weekly salaries are below:
Compensation:
  • Gaming Technical Compliance Specialist 1 (AS-609)--$1,570.40
  • Gaming Technical Compliance Specialist 2 (AS-610)--$1,680.00
  • Gaming Technical Compliance Specialist 3 (AS-612)--$1,923.20
