Job description

Lakeside Hotel Casino is seeking a Gaming Operations Manager to provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight for our Slot, Table Games, and Facilities Housekeeping departments.

This role ensures our gaming operations run efficiently and compliantly, with a strong focus on the guest and employee experience. The Gaming Operations Manager works closely with department leaders and property leadership to drive performance, manage staffing and expenses, maintain gaming compliance, and support the property's continued success.

What You'll Do

  • Provides overall leadership and operational oversight for Slot, Table Games, and Facilities Housekeeping, ensuring each department operates in accordance with company policies, procedures, internal controls, Title 31 requirements, state laws, and Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission rules and regulations.
  • Monitors staffing levels and scheduling to provide appropriate operational coverage, maintain a high level of guest service, and effectively manage labor and departmental expenses.
  • Maintains open communication with team members and leaders, communicates operational expectations and property activities, and ensures employees have the training, tools, and resources necessary to perform their responsibilities.
  • Monitors guest service performance and resolves escalated guest concerns or disputes that cannot be readily resolved by subordinate team members.
  • Safeguards guests and company assets and ensures appropriate controls are followed for gaming operations, cash handling, recordkeeping, and required operational documentation.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of slot operations and compliance, including game performance, product mix, quantity, and new gaming products to support maximum play and profitability.
  • Completes and/or oversees required Slot documentation, including log booth sheets, cashier/booth variances, recordable jackpots, MTL and CTR documentation, and verification of taxable jackpots.
  • Oversees Table Games leadership and dealer performance and ensures assigned shifts operate efficiently, with appropriate floor coverage and accountability for operational performance.
  • Monitors Table Games departmental performance, operating results, labor, expenses, and budget goals and takes appropriate action to support financial and operational objectives.
  • Ensures Table Games procedures are consistently followed, including security of monies and gaming assets, recordkeeping, shift documentation, attendance documentation, federal currency reporting requirements, and other applicable internal controls.
  • Oversees Table Games operational needs, including inventory and ordering of cards and dice and appropriate control of gaming equipment and supplies.
  • Ensures appropriate training of Table Games employees and leaders so employees have the knowledge and skills necessary to perform assigned games and responsibilities at an acceptable level.
  • Provides leadership coverage for Table Games as operationally necessary, including running or supporting a shift in the absence of Table Games shift leadership and assisting with decisions requiring management-level authority.
  • Works closely with Surveillance, Marketing, Guest Service Center, Security, and other departments to coordinate gaming operations, large buy-ins, promotions, guest issues, and other operational needs.
  • Works closely with the Director of Gaming Operations, Vice President and General Manager, and departmental supervisors and leads to ensure operational, financial, compliance, and guest service goals are achieved.
  • Ensures the department consistently follows uniform, appearance, grooming, professionalism, and service standards.
  • Attends all company-required training, adheres to all safety guidelines, meets company attendance requirements, and maintains required gaming licensure.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years of gaming management experience with a strong working knowledge of Slots and/or Table Games is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage staffing, employee performance, guest service, compliance, and departmental financial results.
  • Working knowledge of casino gaming operations, internal controls, Title 31 requirements, and applicable gaming regulations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Microsoft Office experience and basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced casino environment and respond to changing operational priorities.
  • Must be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission license.
