Job summary

Prairie Island Indian Community seeks a dedicated Gaming Inspector to uphold integrity and ensure compliance across Treasure Island Resort & Casino properties. You will study Gaming Materials Handbook and attend trainings to understand Departmental policies for Table Games, Slots, Bingo/Pull Tabs, Security, Surveillance, and Cash Services.

You will monitor activities for compliance, report discrepancies, and participate in required training and licensing processes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and write reports.
  • Must interpret extensive gaming material per CFR25/IGRA/tribal and state guidelines.
  • Must conform to Prairie Island Tribal Council regulations.
  • Pass onsite inspector training within 90 days of start.
  • Complete mandated training for licensing and gaming issues.
  • Understand CFR25, Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988, Tribal/State Compact and Prairie Island Gaming Ordinance.

Responsibilities

  • Read and comprehend Gaming Materials Handbook and Departmental Policy and Procedure manuals.
  • Receive training and develop expertise in policies across departments (Table Games, Slots, Bingo/Pull Tabs, Security, Surveillance, Cash Services).
  • Attend monthly staff meetings and submit daily shift, weekly status, weekly departmental variance and monthly duty reports to Compliance Coordinator.
  • Monitor Casino activities for compliance and report discrepancies.
  • Attend trainings on Native American gaming and compliance issues as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

SUMMARY

The Gaming Inspector is to uphold the integrity and ensure compliance of the Treasure Island Resort & Casino property.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

The following duties and responsibilities are not meant to be all inclusive and may be adjusted to meet business needs.

  • Read and comprehend Gaming Materials Handbook and Departmental Policy and Procedure manuals
  • Receive training and develop expertise in the policies and procedures of the respective departments; Table Games, Slots, Bingo/Pull Tabs, Security, Surveillance and Cash Services to familiarize with their unique job requirements
  • Attend monthly staff meetings and submits daily shift, weekly status, weekly departmental variance and monthly duty reports to the Compliance Coordinator
  • Monitor activities in the Casino for compliance and departmental policies and procedures, reporting all discrepancies relating to issues of non-compliance
  • Attend any seminars, meetings, conferences, classes and/or training that deals with Native American gaming and compliance issues as deemed necessary by the Gaming Commissioners
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to read, comprehend and write reports
  • Must have full capability to interpret and comprehend extensive gaming material as directed by State and Federal guidelines
  • Must be able to conform to regulations as decreed by the Prairie Island Tribal Council
  • Must be able to pass onsite inspector training within 90 days of start
  • Must be able to complete all mandated training for licensing and gaming issues
  • Must be able to comprehend basic understanding of CFR25, Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988, Tribal/State Compact and the Prairie Island Gaming Ordinance
  • Ability to maintain strict standards of confidentiality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work well within the existing team and government structure
  • Sensitive to Native American Culture
  • Must pass drug screen (UA) and a criminal background check
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: *
  • Must be able to walk or stand for long periods throughout the day with occasional sitting
  • Work is performed in throughout the property (gaming floor and administration building), which may have flashing lights and frequent loud noises
  • Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
REQUIRED TRAINING
  • Effectively Handling Harassment training
  • Any position-related training as determined by department manager
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
  • Work is performed primarily in an office setting, but may include occasional outdoor activities
