Job summary

Insomniac Games is seeking a User Research Intern to collaborate with the User Research and Development Management teams. You will explore how development tools support workflows, conduct surveys and interviews, and support usability studies for game projects.

You will gain hands-on experience with data analysis, reporting, and presenting findings to tool owners and cross-functional partners while learning from experienced researchers in a dynamic game studio environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed degree in Psychology, HCI, Human Factors, Cognitive Science, or related field.
• Experience with game projects or demonstrated passion for games and player experience.
• Familiarity with research methods such as surveys, interviews, usability testing, or observation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with User Research and Development teams to develop research questions about tool use and workflows.
• Design and conduct surveys to understand experiences using Jira, Miro, Confluence, and related systems.
• Assist with recruiting participants and conducting interviews or observations, including remote sessions.
• Organize and analyze survey responses, interview notes, and observations to identify themes and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare reports and presentations communicating findings to tool owners and partners.
• Support usability studies and playtests, including logistics and note-taking.
• Analyze player feedback and contribute to research reports to inform game development.
