Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Game Lands program seeks a Maintenance Worker 1 to perform semi-skilled tasks and assist with duties in the field. The position runs Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–3:30 pm with a 30-minute lunch, totaling 40 hours weekly; after a one-year probation, promotion to Worker 2 with higher responsibilities and pay occurs.

As Worker 1 you will gain experience with construction and farming tasks, with eligibility for an active PA driver’s license.

• One year of farming experience using agricultural tools and equipment.
• One year of construction equipment experience.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training.

THE POSITION

Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 3:30 pm with a 30-minute lunch (40 hours per week)

After successfully completing the one-year probationary period, a Game Lands Maintenance Worker 1 will be promoted to a Game Lands Maintenance Worker 2 and receive an increase in pay.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

A Game Land Maintenance Worker 1 performs semi-skilled work and assists with other duties.

A Game Land Maintenance Worker 2 performs full journey level maintenance and trades related work.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Game Lands Maintenance Worker 1:

• One year of laboring experience using construction tools and equipment; or
• One year of farming experience using agricultural tools and equipment; or
• One year of construction equipment experience; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• All positions require possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
• All positions are required to obtain an active Class A Commercial Driver’s License within one year of employment in this job.

• One year as a Game Lands Maintenance Worker 1; or

• An equivalent combination of experience or training.
