Job summary

TrainingPros is seeking junior-level developers in the United States to assist in creating immersive training simulations for the maritime industry. The roles include Junior Unreal Engine Development and Junior 3D Asset Development, focusing on developing environments and assets using Unreal Engine.

Candidates should have 1–2 years of relevant experience and be comfortable working collaboratively on a contract basis. A passion for immersive learning and simulation technology is critical.

Qualifications

Job description

Duration: Through end of 2026, with potential to extend

Rate: $45/hour (1099)

Our client is a global client in the maritime industry developing immersive, game-based training simulations designed to help maritime professionals and crews build practical skills in realistic, interactive environments.

These junior-level roles will support the development of multiple simulation-based training products, including both technical development in Unreal Engine and the creation of realistic 3D assets and environments.

Junior Unreal Engine Development
  • Developing immersive simulation-based or game-based environments using Unreal Engine
  • Programming features and functionality using C++ and Blueprint
  • Building interactive functionality for realistic training experiences
  • Troubleshooting technical issues and supporting ongoing product iteration
  • Collaborating with 3D artists, project leads, and stakeholders
Junior 3D Asset Development / Unreal Asset Development
  • Creating realistic 3D assets and environments for immersive training simulations
  • Supporting hard surface modeling for vessels, equipment, environments, and related technical assets
  • Developing assets using physically based rendering / PBR workflows
  • Supporting Unreal Engine environments as needed
Preferred Experience
  • 1–2 years of relevant Unreal Engine development and/or 3D asset creation experience
  • C++ and Blueprint experience for Unreal Developer candidates
  • Experience with hard surface modeling and PBR workflows preferred
  • Portfolio or work samples strongly preferred for 3D Artist / Asset Developer candidates
  • Interest in immersive learning, simulation, serious games, or training technology
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-moving project environment
  • Ability to work full time on a contract basis
  • Must be able to provide your own equipment
