Job summary

Valmont is seeking a General Shop Help in the Coatings Division to prepare products and materials for galvanizing, hang angle on spreader bars, and stage tubular products. You will work with hand tools, read instructions, and maintain safety while supporting the galvanizing process; previous experience in galvanizing is a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle heavy parts.
• Six months of galvanizing position experience preferred.
• Experience operating a bridge crane is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare products and materials for galvanizing.
• Hang angle on spreader bars and stage tubular products.
• Paddle/inspect galvanized products for quality.
• Use hand tools to prepare steel for pickling or galvanizing.
• Assist in daily housekeeping and plant safety.
