Job summary

Valmont Industries in Tualatin, OR is seeking a General Shop Help in the Coatings Division. The role involves preparing products and materials for the galvanizing process, hanging angle on spreader bars, staging tubular products, and prepping small parts for galvanizing.

You will inspect fixtures, use hand and power tools, and help maintain a safe, clean work environment. Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or GED, ability to read a tape measure, and at least six months experience

Qualifications

Must be able to read and follow written/verbal instructions.
Able to read a tape measure accurately.
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Six months galvanizing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Inspect and identify unsafe production fixtures, chains, and hooks; repair or discard unsafe items.
Wire small to medium-sized parts to racks for pickling or galvanizing.
Move steel pieces by hand around plant and yard.
Prepare steel for galvanizing using air tools and blow off zinc needles.
Assist in general plant cleanup and housekeeping.
Follow safety procedures to prevent accidents.
