Job summary

Jimmy Jazz in Harrisburg, NC is seeking a Production Associate to support the galvanizing process, including preparation and finishing of steel products. The role requires manual handling, tool use, and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Typical schedule is 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, or 11pm-7am with possible weekend overtime. The position is non-exempt, requires a high school diploma, and offers base pay of $18.00–$19.00 per hour plus shift differential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing production environment.
• Good time management and proven multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to be self-sufficient and self-motivated.
• Demonstrates initiative, sense of urgency and is self-motivated when addressing work tasks.
• Team oriented.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and identify worn or damaged production fixtures, chains, and hooks and facilitating proper repair or discarding irreparable items.
• Hand wiring parts to racks for pickling and galvanizing.
• Wrapping chains and ropes around steel bundles.
• Lift and move steel parts by hand to relocate them, hang them for galvanizing or remove them from fixtures for finishing ( 40- 60 lbs).
• Remove excess zinc and/or ash from steel after it is galvanized.
• Use power tools to help prepare steel for pickling or galvanizing as well as finish products.
• Conduct ongoing safety inspections.
• Housekeeping of area worked in and surrounding areas as assigned.
• Inspect material for proper preparation and quality.
