Job summary

Portland Bolt SE in North Augusta, SC is hiring for a General Labor role. The position is full-time with a day shift and a starting salary shown as $17.50 per hour.

You will read work orders, operate cranes and forklifts, inspect products, and participate in galvanizing processes. Qualified candidates will lift 35+ lbs, use hand tools, read drawings, and maintain safety and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read work orders and drawings.
• Ability to use hand tools and drills.
• Ability to lift 35+lbs repeatedly and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to use hand measuring equipment (i.e., calipers, ruler, go/no go gauges)
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Hand-eye coordination
• High school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Read and comprehend work instructions following established procedures.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Inspect product per requirements.
• Operate bar saws/shears, thread rolling/cutting machines, and hydraulic benders.
• Perform machine setups and basic operator maintenance.
• Work in the hot dip galvanizing area loading/unloading baskets, processing product through chemical tanks, and verifying product quality.
