Monarch Gallery on Duval Street in Key West is seeking a Part-Time sales associate with a flair for engaging clients and closing deals. You will develop knowledge of artists and inventory and guide buyers through selections, while supporting gallery events and installations.

The role emphasizes building relationships, following up with prospects, and maintaining a polished, welcoming gallery space. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Exciting opportunity to join Monarch Gallery as we establish our space on Duval Street!

We've brought something new to Key West: a contemporary art gallery filled with artists from around the world and art that doesn't apologize for having a point of view. This is an exciting time to be part of a brand new gallery that's already making waves on Duval. We're not looking for art experts, we're looking for closers with personality who love people and love to sell.

Responsibilities:

• Drive sales through engaging client conversations and relationship building.
• Develop strong knowledge of our artists (Fabian Perez, Takashi Murakami, Tristan Eaton, Scotty Ziegler, Michael Ornstein, Karl SoCal, and more), artwork inventory, and current exhibitions.
• Build understanding of the contemporary art industry with focus on museum-quality, pop, and street art movements.
• Qualify client needs and guide them toward pieces that match their interests and budget.
• Follow up with potential buyers and maintain an active pipeline of prospects.
• Process sales transactions and coordinate artwork delivery and installation.
• Maintain organized client records and sales activity reports.
• Assist with hanging the gallery, gallery events, exhibition openings, and special presentations.
• Keep the gallery space welcoming, organized, and professionally presented.

Qualifications:

• A genuine passion for sales and a natural ability to connect with people. This is key.
• Drive to learn is essential; we'll provide comprehensive training on our artists, inventory, and sales approach.
• Proven sales ability and comfort with commission-based compensation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read a room, build rapport quickly, and close with confidence.
• Self-motivated with strong follow-through.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends required to capture Key West's vibrant nightlife.
• Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds.

No art background required. We will teach you everything you need to know about our artists, inventory, and the world of contemporary art. You bring the drive and the personality; we'll handle the rest.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.

Compensation:

Hourly vs. Commission Sales, whichever is higher.

Hourly Rate: $16-$18 based on experience.
