Summary: To observe and protect The Saint Louis Art Museum's staff, visitors, building, collections, and contents to reduce the possibility of, and by his or her presence, prevent, theft, fire, vandalism, or other hazards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Attend roll-call prior to shift for inspection and assignment; receive information pertaining to the day's assignment.
2. Participate in training in emergency procedures.
3. Comply with general orders, policies, and procedures.
4. Make suggestions, convey observations, and acquired information to his or her supervisor.
5. Firmly yet politely advise Museum staff and visitors of Museum policies.
6. Give directions and answer questions.
7. Constantly move through assigned area or observe from an assigned stationary location.
8. Maintain a neat personal appearance and meet uniform specifications.
9. Perform in drills and respond to emergencies as required by Museum policies and procedures.
10. Perform light custodial work as required for daily assignment. May be required to lift or carry items as part of this task.
11. Shall be required to work overtime as needed.
12. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
13. Use a light computer to obtain email and schedules for work.

Qualifications: High school diploma or G.E.D. is required. Training in emergency procedures is required. Must be able to deal with Museum staff and visitors in a polite and courteous manner. Prior museum experience is helpful. Must be dedicated to duty, possess good judgment and discretion, while being diligent in the performance of responsibilities. Attendance must be reliable and punctual.

Additional Details:

• Minimum of Range: $17.02/hour
• Status: Full-Time
