About This Role

The Georgia Pre-K Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment for four-year-old children. This role includes assisting with daily classroom activities, supporting lesson implementation, and helping foster children’s social, emotional, and academic development.

The Georgia Pre-K Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment for four-year-old children. This role includes assisting with daily classroom activities, supporting lesson implementation, and helping foster children’s social, emotional, and academic development.

The Assistant Teacher plays an important role in maintaining classroom routines, ensuring compliance with Bright from the Start (DECAL) standards, and contributing to a positive and well-organized classroom. Collaboration with the Lead Teacher and clear communication with staff are key to success in this position.

What You’ll Do

Teacher Responsibilities

• Supervision and daily class functions of a group of children
• Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment
• Observes all rules and regulations at Chroma Early Learning Academy and the local, state, and national agencies pertaining to the health, safety, and care of children
• Support each child’s social and emotional development and provide positive guidance
• Assess each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis
• Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with the Chroma Early Learning Academy curriculum and programming
• Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence
• Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior
• Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas, and playgrounds
• Attends all staff meetings, workshops, and/or school functions
• Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering to the guidelines offered in the Chroma Early Learning Academy Employee Handbook
• Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children
