Job summary

Chroma Early Learning Academy in Georgia is seeking an Assistant Childcare Teacher to support lead teachers in creating a safe, nurturing environment for young children. You will help implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development while supervising all children.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Pass a Background Check.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days).
  • Ability to meet all requirements under Georgia’s Bright from the Start and Quality Rated guidelines.
  • Passion for early childhood education and the social-emotional well-being of young children.
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and committed to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in the day-to-day care of the children in the classroom.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment aligned with Georgia DECAL and Quality Rated standards.
  • Support the implementation of an age-appropriate curriculum that promotes sensory exploration, early communication, and gross motor development.
  • Observe and document developmental milestones and communicate regularly with families.
  • Follow all licensing and program guidelines related to health, safety, and sanitation.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training required for Quality Rated compliance.

About This Role

At Chroma Early Learning Academy, an Assistant Childcare Teacher supports lead teachers in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children. This role involves helping to implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development, while ensuring the well‑being and supervision of all children in the classroom. Responsibilities may include assisting with lesson preparation, maintaining a clean and organized space, monitoring behavior, and communicating effectively with staff and families. The ideal candidate is patient, attentive, and passionate about early childhood education, with a willingness to collaborate and adapt in a dynamic childcare setting.

What You’ll Do
