Job summary

Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) seeks a Production Group Leader to supervise Team Leaders/Members in manufacturing and quality within an automotive environment.

You will direct activities of multiple team leaders in production of vehicles and their areas, plan schedules, inspect materials for defects, and ensure standards are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong command of the English language, written and spoken.
  • 1–5 years of job-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Team Leaders/Members in the manufacturing/quality areas in an automotive environment.
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of multiple team leaders engaged in production.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet goals.
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Demonstrate equipment operations and work & safety procedures.
  • Observe work and monitor processes to ensure conformity to standards.
  • Assign and coordinate work using independent judgment.
  • Ensure delivery of quality within timeframes based on skills and availability.
  • Address grievances and assist with problem solving.
  • Participate in hiring and promotional activities and evaluations.
  • Coordinate with other supervisors to align operations.

  • Participate in probationary evaluations and other evaluations of Team Members and provide recommendations as appropriate.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
  • Responsible for safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets for assigned production areas.
  • Undertake special assignments as required by management.
  • Ensure Team Members adhere to HMGMA policies and procedures.
  • Ensure time input is properly completed and ensure other tasks are completed as required.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with Team Members and management.
  • Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.

Physical Demands

While in Office: This position is primarily sedentary and requires working at a desk and computer for extended periods. Responsibilities may include:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk within the office environment as needed

When in Production Area (if applicable):

  • Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended durations

  • Manual dexterity for handling power tools, machinery, or production equipment
  • Working in environments that may be noisy, hot, or require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Capability to learn and work on multiple production processes, as required
  • Adequate visual and auditory abilities to identify safety hazards and communicate clearly
