Job summary

Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) is seeking an entry-level General Purchasing professional to support vendor management, inventory tracking, and forecasting for materials used in production runs.

You will review supplier performance, prepare RFQs, and help optimize the supplier base while ensuring cost and quality targets are met. This role offers exposure to a global manufacturer and opportunities in purchasing analytics.

Qualifications

• Assist with inventory reporting and analytics.


• Responsible for general purchasing (such as steel & aluminum /sub materials/paints/equipment/MROs) activities and supplier management relating to cost, quality, supplier controls, legal, compliances, and service for HMGMA.

Major responsibilities

• Place orders with vendors according to planned manufacturing schedules.


• Research and evaluate various vendors to determine the best price/quality and availability.


• Ensure materials are purchased at best possible price by conducting research and analysis of vendors and costs.


• Prepare, report, and implement Request for Quotation (RFQ) for general purchasing.


• Select, develop, and manage supply base for General Purchasing products and services by:

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

Minimum:

• Bachelor’s degree (all majors)


• Solid Excel and computer skills


• Deep understanding of external market and current trends


• Experience in General Purchasing


• Domestic / International travel required.

Preferred:

• Job related experience in Automotive or related Industry.


• Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) designation preferred.
